FROM LAMED TO BET: DEEPENING OUR HEARTS

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8 AT 12:00 PM

The Torah - our most ancient text - includes fundamental questions about God, human nature, and what it means to live with an open heart in the modern world. At this lunch and learn with Rabbi Knight, we will celebrate Sukkot and prepare for Simchat Torah by exploring the predominance of divine love, the centrality of empathy, and the primacy of gratitude and generosity at the heart of the Torah.

Hearts

THE #LEV PROJECT

Since we cannot be together in person this year, we invite you to create art on the theme of “Lev - Heart.” What matters most to you and is at the center of your heart? How has your heart expanded or contracted in the last year? How is Torah at the “heart” of our community? Send pictures of your art to Amy Fine and we will incorporate the pieces into our Shabbat and Simchat Torah Service: From Lamed to Bet.

SUKKOT CONCERT WITH

NEFESH MOUNTAIN

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7 AT 7:30PM

Nefesh Mountain is the place where Bluegrass, Old-Time, and American Roots music meet with
Jewish heritage and tradition. Creators and husband and wife team Doni Zasloff and Eric Lindberg
are the heart of this eclectic offering, which seamlessly blends their deep love for American and Western musical forms with their own cultural backgrounds as Jewish Americans. The result of this unexpected and beautiful mix is staggering - and a perfect way to enjoy an evening of Sukkot – from your Sukkah or another cozy spot at home. This concert is open to all Temple members and the greater Charlotte Jewish Community.
